ABOUT

Supportive Pillar Organisation is a non-profit organization that aims to increase the accessibility to formal education among young people from Dzaleka Refugee Camp and the rural areas in Malawi for future economic empowerment.

The Supportive Pillar Scholars program works to provide resources, awareness, and opportunities to those who might not have access to them otherwise. This program covers school expenses such as tuition fees, exam fees, and school materials for poor students on the verge of dropping out of school due to financial incapability.

WHAT WE DO

  • Supportive Pillar Scholars Program: Offer scholarships to secondary school students who are out of school and are living in extreme poverty.

  • Mentorship Programs: We conduct workshops to motivate, mentor, and offer guidance to students in community secondary schools.

  • Supportive Pillar Leadership Academy: An upcoming project; a boarding school that will aim to bring world-class education to young people living in extreme poverty.

  • Offer School Materials to Children: Apart from scholarships, we have a separate program to offer school materials to students in free schools who cannot afford school materials.

OUR GOAL

Our goal is to secure funds, find vulnerable students in rural schools who are on the verge of dropping out, bring back to school those who have dropped out due to lack of finances, and provide extra curriculum activities. This is to educate and empower young people living in extreme poverty so that they become self-reliant adults by making sure that they attain the needed qualifications that will enable them to join the workforce.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to educate young people to change their living conditions through economic empowerment by increasing their accessibility to education and decreasing the school dropout rate through the provision of physical, emotional, and financial support to cover their needs that they do not have access to otherwise.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to break the cycle of poverty and empower young people to be self-reliant adults.
